- Pretzel Rods or pretzel twists, pretzels squares - whichever you'd prefer!
- white or pink candy melts, white chocolate chips or dark or milk chocolate chips
- Red, white or pink Valentine's Day sprinkles - heart shaped sprinkles, mini m&m's, conversation hearts, etc. make the fun and festive!
Instructions
This is an overview of the instructions for these pretty Valentines Day treats! For the complete directions just scroll down to the bottom.
- Prepare cookie sheet by lining with parchment paper or wax paper.
- Place the candy melts in microwave safe bowl and melt according to package directions.
- Dip ¾ of the pretzel rod into the melted chocolate.
- Shake off any excess chocolate. Transfer to lined baking sheet. Lay in a single layer.
- While the chocolate is still melted, immediately top with heart shape festive sprinkles!
- Refrigerate to allow chocolate to completely cool.
- Store in airtight container.

Yes, but you will need to temper the chocolate first.
Can I freeze Valentine's chocolate-covered pretzels?
Yes, they can be frozen for up to three months.
Should I store Valentine pretzel rods in the fridge?
Only if your house is warm. Otherwise, they are best stored at room temperature.
Tips
- Make sure that your candy melts are completely melted before trying to dip the pretzel rods.
- Make sure you allow the pretzel rods to completely dry before you move them to an airtight container.
- Apply the sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
- Line the cookie sheet with wax paper or parchment paper, otherwise, they will stick to the pan.
- Place them in a glass jar tied with a cute ribbon! These festive homemade treats are a terrific hand-made gift.
Variations
- Instead of using heart sprinkles on these pretzel rods, you can also use nuts or candy.
- You can also dip these pretzels into milk or dark chocolate for a rich chocolate taste.

Ingredients
- 36 Pretzel Rods
- 12 ounces size package of white candy melts or pink candy melts
- Valentine's Day Sprinkles
