I see potential in other people’s “trash” and fixer-upper homes — and in spring, in my garden plots and all the packets of seeds I want to grow! This easy dollar store spring wreath DIY is a tribute to the hopes of spring and planting seeds, then working the ground to help grow something beautiful. Every gardener will appreciate the whimsy of this spring seed packet wreath!
This dollar store spring wreath DIY might not take anyone’s breath away, but it’s sure to make you smile and it is so cute for a gardener to decorate their potting bench, garden shed front doors, or back door. Using affordable materials and simple techniques, you can create a fun spring wreath that celebrates the beauty of spring without breaking the bank.

How to Make A Spring Garden Wreath: Step-by-Step Tutorial

Materials
- 14-inch wire wreath form from Dollar Tree
- 1 pair Dollar Tree garden gloves (choose from a variety of colors and patterns)
- 8-10 inches of Dollar Tree spring ribbon (1/2″ or 5/8″ in your preferred color/pattern)
- 12+ seed packets (available at Dollar Tree, usually 4 for $1, or at other local stores)
- Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
- Scissors
Step-by-Step Spring Wreath Instructions
Preparation: If you’d like to plant the seeds *and* use the seed packets for this spring garden wreath, carefully open the flap on the back of the seed packets, remove the seeds, and glue the packet closed again.
Step 1: Determine the spring wreath layout
Begin by heating up your glue gun. While it heats up, arrange the flower seed packets and the gardening gloves around the wreath form until you’re happy with the layout. Stagger the packets in different directions to cover the wreath form and create a wider wreath.
Step 2: Glue the seed packets to the wreath frame
Apply a line of hot glue to both the outer and inner rims of the wire wreath form in one small section, where the bottom-most seed packet will be located.
Press firmly on the seed packet to adhere it to the wreath form.
Continue gluing the other seed packets to the wreath form until they are all secured in place. Leave a gap for the gloves.
Step 3: Add the garden gloves to the wreath
In the gap on one side of the wreath, apply hot glue to all of the wires, preferably where there is a wire across. Apply hot glue to the back of the gloves as well.
Press the garden gloves firmly onto the glue.
Step 4: Add a bow to the wreath

Add a dab of hot glue to the backside of the bow. Place the bow on top of the gloves and secure it in place with additional hot glue if needed.
Step 5: Finishing touches
Secure any loose edges of the seed packets with more hot glue. Then, hang the wreath and enjoy!
Variations for the Dollar Store Spring Wreath
- Add artificial flowers or fresh greenery for a fuller wreath with more color. Weave flower garlands through the wreath form to fill in gaps. A tulip stem or peony blooms tucked inside the gloves will be darling, or you can use zip ties to add a small planting pot with flowers and moss.
